Jan 9, 2013 in Pack News and Announcements

Pack 32 Scouts and Families, Welcome to the Pinewood derby 2013    Pit Night and check-in:  This event is on Friday, January 25th at the East Amwell Elementary school Gym and will be held from approximately 7:00-8:30 pm.  During this evening the boys can test run their cars on the track, make any adjustments and then have their car’s final inspections/registration/check-in and then the cars will be held by race officials until Saturday’s Race time.  The goal here is to register/inspect as many cars as possible on Friday evening so that there are fewer issues for Saturday morning.  If the boy’s cars are not checked in on Friday evening, they must come to registration at 9:00 am on Saturday. At no time during the testing of the cars will any side by side racing be allowed, and no computer times will be displayed.  Boys should only handle their own cars during this time.  We will have some refreshments available so that you can help support the pack and this PWD event. Pinewood Derby Race Day- East Amwell School Gym Saturday January 26, 2013 The Pinewood Derby Event will be held at the EAS Gym and will begin with registration initiating at 9:00 am sharp.  We encourage all to attend as this is a family event.  Actual racing slots will be based on the following schedule:        Tiger Scouts-  10:00-11:00 am    Wolf Scouts-          11:00-12:00 pm    Bear Scouts-    12:00-1:00 pm    Webelo 1 Scouts-  1:00-2:00 pm AOL  Scouts-     2:00-2:40 pm     Siblings-      2:40-3:15 pm  Leader of the Pack 3:15-4:00  Unlimited/Open-  4:00- 4:30 pm        These running times are just an estimate and will be determined by the number of boys participating the day of the event.  These should be used only as a guideline so that you can plan your day.  At times there are issues that come up throwing the schedule off.  Please keep in mind that the purpose of this event is to encourage all boys to be present not just during their own time slots but also during all racing to support the other boys and the pack in general.  If your boy has a conflict with their time slot but would like to run their car, you must contact your Den leader ahead of time and the car must still be registered during the registration period on Friday night or between 9:00-10:00 am on Saturday. Lunch/Refreshments will be Available on Saturday. At no time will food or drinks be allowed in the EAS gym, all proceeds support the Pack. We will be following the 2013 Pack 32 PWD Rules and Regulation document put out last month and posted on the Pack website.  All final decisions will be made by the Race Day officials. Please show good Sportsmanship throughout the event and remember that this is for all our Scouts enjoyment.  Thank you in advance to all those parents that are helping out on race day.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your den leader.
